Water Contaminants.. and how to find out what’s in yours..

For those of you that have never thought about what is in your water, now would be a good time! Hurrican Sandy reminded us that if faced with some type of natural disaster or emergency, there is one thing that we can not do without : CLEAN DRINNKING WATER. Bottled water was the first thing gone from the shelves of supermarkets on the East Coast. However, have you ever wondered what is really lurking in your local tapwater on a daily basis?

There are over 300 known contaminants, which is why I went to the Environmental Working Group’s Water Database.

You can put your zip code in and find out exactly how your water stacks up…. but be prepared.. it is pretty shocking!
