The Eco-Friendly Way to Clean Your Dishwasher

FavoriteLoadingAdd to favorites

Ever have one of those days when you open the dishwasher and a foul smell is hitting you right in the nose? Yes, that means your dishwasher is feeling neglected and ready to be cleaned. Instead of using harmful chemicals, why not try giving our old friend distilled vinegar a try? Distilled vinegar naturally deodorizes and disinfects, which is why Eco-conscious people have been using it to clean their homes for decades. White Distilled Vinegar is completely safe and non-toxic, and will do the trick every time.

To get your dishwasher smelling clean again, the first thing you should do is clean the filter according to the manufacturer’s directions. Then, use white distilled vinegar to dissolve water spots and deodorize the inside. Pour 2 cups of white vinegar into a bowl and then place it upright on the lower or bottom most rack. Run the machine on the short or energy efficient cycle and your done! Simple as that, and now you have a clean and deodorized dishwasher the EcoSavvyMom way!!
